Misunderstandings when buy a eyeglasses in daily life.

The summer is the peak time for students to wear glasses. Experts pointed out that there are university questions in the small glasses, so you must know a lot of precautions before fitting the glasses and emphasize science.

Misunderstanding 1: Poor quality of "waiting now"

In order to attract customers, many optical shops have branded "Immediately Available". However, due to the quality problems of the "Immediately Available" glasses produced by some businesses, "Immediately Available" has even become a negative term.

During the interview, the reporter said that many optical shops still follow the fast route: the optical shop said that as long as the glasses currently worn are comfortable, they can directly match this degree without optometry. And they all said that they can be done on-site, and there is no need to wait too long, as fast as ten minutes, at most half an hour.

Tang Ping from the Optometry Center of Beijing Tongren Hospital pointed out that with the advancement of science and technology, it is now possible to guarantee the quality of glasses "just waiting". However, the "immediate desirability" mentioned here does not mean buying ready-made glasses on the spot, but an urgent service. In the case that the stock lenses are relatively complete, and the current spectacle lenses are all computerized, cut them into a shape suitable for the frame, so if you need urgent service, it can be produced within two hours. The quality is also good. Guaranteed glasses. In the past, lenses were mainly polished by hand. If the glasses are made in a short time, large errors are likely to occur.

However, some lenses with special powers, such as those with high power (such as seven or eight hundred degrees), and those with astigmatism over 250 degrees, because of the small number of these lenses, they often need to be specially customized and generally cannot be made urgently. Therefore, consumers should be cautious if the “ready to wait” businesses still use manual lens polishing methods.

Misunderstanding 2: Optician can not measure the interpupillary distance.

The reporter found in the interview that if the optician himself cannot come, the staff at the Newland Optical Store, Baodao Optical Dongsi Store, and Ruichangming Opticianry Center have made it clear that if there is no problem with astigmatism, they only need to provide the optometry of the wearer. The power and interpupillary distance can be equipped with glasses. However, at the Fameda optics shop, the staff said, “If you have the degree, you can directly equip the lens, and the interpupillary distance is almost the same”, but the staff also said that if the interpupillary distance is not suitable, you can come to adjust.

Experts pointed out that a pair of qualified and comfortable glasses depends on two factors: one is whether the optometry is accurate, and the other is whether the glasses are qualified.

In addition to accurate optometry, various technical parameters must be met when fitting glasses. Interpupillary distance is one of the keys to preparing qualified glasses. Inaccurate interpupillary distance measurement can easily cause many problems such as the deviation of the optical center distance and the vertical deviation of the optical center. Wearing such glasses will not eliminate visual fatigue, but will cause visual distortion, reduced clarity, and even dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and eye swelling. Wait for the situation.

Misunderstanding 3: The more advanced optometry equipment, the better.

During the interview, the reporter also found that whether it is a hospital ophthalmology department or an optical shop, some places for optometry and glasses use traditional eye chart, and some use computer projection equipment. This difference makes people murmur: Is it possible that the simpler the equipment, the less accurate the optometry effect?

In this regard, experts pointed out that computer projection is a relatively modern device, which is less affected by the light in the environment; while the traditional eye chart must ensure sufficient light to achieve certain lighting conditions. As long as the light intensity is in line, the accuracy of the two optometry methods is the same, so consumers do not need to worry.

In order to buy cheap glasses, consumers often go to other places to buy glasses with their optometry after undergoing optometry at regular medical institutions. In this regard, ophthalmologists remind people that the production of glasses is as important as optometry, so it is best to have glasses in accordance with the interpupillary distance after optometry at a professional institution to ensure the quality of the glasses. Qualified glasses should feel comfortable after wearing, have clear vision, and don't feel dizzy.

Misunderstanding 4: It is not necessary to spend time with pupil dilation.

In many optical shops, the opticians wear glasses directly after refraction and leave after wearing them, often neglecting the part of mydriasis. Because they are worried about losing customers, or in order to improve work efficiency, many optical shops will omit the step of mydriasis. For example, in the Ruichangming Optician Optic Center and Fameda Optician, the staff said that it is not the first time to have glasses, and there is no need to dilate pupils.

Regarding this, ophthalmologists do not agree, believing that although mydriasis increases the time for opticians, it can make optics more accurate. Mydriasis can help the spectacles determine whether there is false myopia, so that the prescription of the glasses will be more accurate. Moreover, because human eyes have the ability to self-regulate, even patients who have been myopic for many years may have pseudomyopia. For patients with long-sightedness who have had stable vision but who have recently experienced decreased vision, and students who have just gone through repeated exercises, do not neglect the entire procedure of mydriasis before getting glasses to rule out false myopia. Generally speaking, children under 12 years old and hyperopic people usually have to dilate their pupils for 3 days before they can get glasses. Others only need about 40 minutes to dilate their pupils.

Experts remind students who have spectacles in summer, it is best to go to the ophthalmology department of a regular hospital for mydriatic refraction before spectacles, and wait until the pupils have diminished to normal before trying the spectacles. Especially young people who are getting glasses for the first time must go to professional institutions for optometry, mydriasis, and glasses.
