Why Wear Ski Goggles When Skiing?

Wear ski goggles when enjoying snow scenery or walking in mountains, glaciers and snow covered areas.  The reason was that in some places the surface of the snow was slightly depressed, like the concave surface of a searchlight.  In places like this, white light is possible.  If you do not wear ski goggles, you may have snow blindness.

Especially in places with relatively wide snow cover, snow has a very high reflectivity to sunlight, and the reflectivity of pure new snow surface can reach 95%.  In other words, 95 percent of the sun's radiation is re-reflected by the snow surface.  At this time, the snow surface, the degree of brightness is almost close to the sun, how can the naked eye retina withstand the stimulation of such strong light?

The clinical manifestation of snow blindness is eyelid redness and swelling, conjunctiva hyperemia and edema, there is intense foreign body sensation and pain, the symptoms are afraid of light, tears and can not open the eyes, there will be blurred during the onset of vision, even blindness.  Even on cloudy days, people who spend too much time on the snow without ski goggles can lose their eyes temporarily.

Skiing is a very challenging outdoor sport. Too much snow on the ski resort can cause snow blindness, and ski glasses can play a role in protecting the eyes while skiing.  The specific functions of ski glasses can be divided into the following five kinds:

1, ski resort snow brightness is too strong to prevent ultraviolet burns to the eyes, we must wear ski glasses, can filter ultraviolet damage to the eyes, and can maintain brightness and open vision.

2, the outdoor temperature is too low, there will be cold wind, wearing ski eyes can effectively prevent cold wind damage to the eyes.

3, ski glasses use air circulation and anti-fogging material design, skiing process can ensure that the mirror can not fog.

4, ski glasses material selection of polycarbonate, such material even under a strong external force will not be deformed.

5. Even if the skiing glasses are broken in the event of accidental fall, the special material will not harm the face.

Why wear goggles when skiing?

1. Snow blindness symptoms:
The main symptoms of snow blindness are swollen and painful eyes, fear of light and tears, blurred vision, dark vision, inability to open eyes, and even temporary blindness.
2. Snow blindness protection:
When walking in snow and ice, wear dark uv sunglasses or snow protective glasses to avoid uv reflection from snow and ice roads.
3. Snow blindness treatment:
1) After the occurrence of snow blindness, in order to prevent acceleration of eye injury, people should leave the snow and ice environment in time.
2) Wash your eyes with eye lotion, or wash your eyes with cold water and fresh milk at about 20 degrees Celsius.
3) Apply medical gauze to the eyes, reduce the use of the eyes, try to close the eyes to rest.
4) Don't use hot compresses. High temperatures can exacerbate eye pain.
5) Ultraviolet glasses must be worn immediately after the onset.

According to the above requirements, you should choose fully enclosed ski goggles.  They are similar in appearance to diving goggles, but do not button the nose in. The outer frame is made of soft plastic and fits tightly to the face, preventing wind from entering.  Mirror surface is made of colored material coated with anti - fog and anti - uv coating.  The material is soft and distorts rather than breaks, ensuring that the mirror doesn't cause damage to the face when hit.  In addition, the upper eaves of the outer frame are made of breathable sponge, so that the hot air discharged from the facial skin can be dispersed to the outside of the mirror, ensuring that the mirror has a good visual effect.  Wearing glasses skiers in the selection of ski goggles, should choose a thicker frame ski goggles, in order to be able to cover all glasses.
